Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership – Kitchen Assistant, Inchview Care Home

Salary: £24,796 - £25,041 • Hours: 36 per week

Social care is a challenging and rewarding career. Our Kitchen staff work with some of Edinburgh's most vulnerable residents. Working in Adult Social Care is a way to make a real difference to the lives of adults and it is extremely rewarding.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide kitchen and catering support to residents, ensuring meals are prepared and served to high standards.
  2. Work as part of a team to support the daily operational needs of the care home kitchen.
  3. Support the welfare and dignity of residents through safe food handling and respectful service.
  4. Participate in training and development activities and adhere to relevant policies and procedures.
Qualifications and requirements
  1. No previous experience in Adult Social Care is required to apply; values and willingness to learn are important.
  2. Roles may involve a variety of working patterns and shifts, including full-time and part-time opportunities.
  3. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post is subject to satisfactory outcome of these pre-employment checks.
