Join Our Team as a Catering Assistant at Hafan y Waun Residential Home, Aberystwyth! Are you passionate about food and dedicated to delivering exceptional service? We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Hafan y Waun Residential Home. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in upholding the highest standards of service, ensuring a positive dining experience for our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and beverages, including setting up and clearing of tables where necessary.
  • Recording the temperature of food at the point of service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing up of equipment and utensils.
  • Collaborate with the catering team to deliver exceptional service.
  • Ensure strict compliance with current food handling and hygiene standards, guided by Food Safety legislation and Environmental Health Standards.
  • Use of hazardous equipment.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, encompassing manual handling, COSHH, and safe use of dangerous equipment.
  • Supporting the catering operation on a two-week rolling rota to include early/late shifts and weekends.

Working hours: 0 hours per week on a two-week rolling rota, to include early/late shifts and weekend working.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience of working in a kitchen environment.
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Has excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Displays a willingness to learn and undertake relevant courses as required.
