Role Overview

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering excellent care and supporting the well-being of our residents.
Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality personal care, including assistance with hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
- Supporting residents with meals and hydration, ensuring dietary needs are met.
- Encouraging engagement in social activities, hobbies, and meaningful pastimes tailored to individual preferences.
- Delivering emotional support and companionship to residents, ensuring a warm and compassionate approach.
- Supervising and mentoring care assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure best practices are upheld.
- Assisting with care planning, risk assessments, and documentation to maintain accurate records.
- Conducting staff supervisions, appraisals, and supporting in recruitment and training activities.
- Liaising with external healthcare professionals, families, and multidisciplinary teams to provide a holistic approach to care.
- Upholding infection control and health & safety standards within the care home environment.
- Ensuring dignity, respect, and person-centered care are at the forefront of all interactions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in a senior or supervisory care role within a residential or nursing home setting.
- A Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards one).
- Strong leadership skills with ability to mentor and support colleagues effectively.
- Confidence in record-keeping and familiarity with digital care-planning systems.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to shift patterns to meet residents’ needs.
- A warm, positive attitude and a genuine passion for delivering person-centered care.
Salary and Hours
£14.45 per hour
38.5 hours per week, 3-4 shifts per week
Shifts: 8am‑8pm, full flexibility required to be able to work 8pm‑8am shifts occasionally, when required
