Job description
Overview

The post holder will be required to work as part of a team providing a booking service to the cardiology department. This requires close liaison with consultants, patients, medical and nursing staff, physiologists and managers. This is a multi-skilled and busy role with frequent requirements for concentration, where the work pattern can be unpredictable with regular interruptions. Handling of complex and sensitive information and the need for confidentiality is integral to the post. The post holder will require a working knowledge of IT systems, in addition to knowledge specific to cardiology. The role will include booking patients for outpatient clinics, diagnostic tests and handling GP, BHT clinician and patient queries. The post holder will be expected to work without direct supervision and will be expected to liaise and communicate as appropriate.
