B&M are seeking a Business Manager (qualified as a CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) with strong technical and analytical expertise to consolidate, validate, and deliver strategic financial insights on the business's commercial performance. This role is central to ensuring accuracy, control, and insight across trading, commercial, and merchandising performance.

Within Stock, Sales and Margin performance framework, you will rigorously stress test financial models, challenge assumptions, and provide a clear line of sight into how performance impacts the P&L. Your work will underpin reliable financial planning and reporting, ensuring decision-making is grounded in robust numbers.

Responsibilities

• Consolidating a coherent and reliable financial view by aligning data across trading, commercial, and merchandising activities.
• Building and maintaining financial models, ensuring they are accurate, resilient, and capable of withstanding stress testing and sensitivity analysis.
• Monitoring, analysis, and reporting on the drivers of P&L performance, ensuring integrity and transparency in financial outputs.
• Providing rigorous financial challenge to forecasts, budgets, and business cases.
• Translating financial results into clear insights for leadership, highlighting risks, opportunities, and variances.
• Maintaining high standards of financial control, accuracy, and compliance across all reporting activities.
• Supporting commercial and trading teams with financial expertise, ensuring commercial decisions are aligned to financial realities.

Qualifications

• Be a fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with significant experience in management accounting, financial planning, or business finance, within a retail environment.
• Have strong technical finance skills, including consolidation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Have advanced financial modelling capability with experience in stress testing and scenario planning.
• Have a deep understanding of P&L dynamics and financial controls.
• Be methodical, detail-oriented, and committed to producing accurate and reliable financial outputs.
• Be a confident communicator with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Experience in a trading, retail, or merchandising-led business is desirable but not essential.
