As part of the Global Merchant & Network Services group (GMNS), the Network & Acquirer Solutions (NAS) team is at the core of American Express, uniquely positioned to support every business unit and customer across the Enterprise. The American Express Network enables over $1.6 trillion in annual spend, serving our Issuers and Acquirers in more than 170 markets worldwide. We are driving a strategic, multi-year Enterprise Payments program to bring all payments together into a center of excellence to drive operational excellence for payment execution, enable innovative payment products, services, and capabilities to be built effectively and efficiently, support our BU strategies more closely, and deliver on our customers’ evolving payment needs.

The Enterprise Payments Centre of Excellence (CoE) is leading a multi-year innovational initiative to evolve American Express into a multi-rail payments ecosystem that features operational and technical excellence in payment execution, to ultimately drive new revenue, relevance and opportunities for the business.

Role Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to support thediscovery and innovation of new payment capabilitieswithin theEnterprise Payments Centre of Excellence (CoE)at American Express. In this role, you will work closely with other analysts and experienced team members to bridge the gap between business and technology by supporting the interpretation of business needs into deliverable capabilities. Reporting to a Senior Manager, you will contribute to the modernization of payment products and gain exposure to critical initiatives in a highly collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in gathering, documenting, and validatingbusiness requirements from partners
  • Support the analysis and mapping ofbusiness processesandcustomer journeys
  • Help preparepresentation materials and documentation for internal teams and senior leadership
  • Learn and develop an understanding ofEnterprise Money Movement and its associated systems and capabilities
  • Participate inmulti-functional meetings to observe and support collaboration between business and technology teams

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in business analysis and financial services, particularly in payments
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of how to detail business requirements and processes (e.g., flowcharts, use cases, user stories)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to learn from peers and contribute to a team environment
  • Ability to manage time effectively across multiple tasks or projects
  • Passionate about crafting impactful customer- first products
  • Proactive and hand-on, with a strong desire and drive to deliver meaningful results

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to or academic experience withAgile delivery methodologies
  • Some knowledge or internship experience inpayments,banking, orfinancial technology
  • Experience working in collaborative environments, either in university projects or internships
  • Flexibility to support teams across different time zones
  • Appreciation of risk and control in a highly regulated industry
