As a Building Surveyor, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the council’s diverse property portfolio. Your expertise will ensure that our buildings remain safe, functional, and well-preserved for generations to come.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure building work complies with council regulations, codes of conduct, and financial policies while maintaining health and safety standards.
  • Manage reactive and planned maintenance projects, ensuring contractor compliance, procurement regulations, and cost scrutiny.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with tenants, leaseholders, service managers, and stakeholders.
  • Identify the need for specialist contractors and propose process improvements to enhance value for money in building services.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Building Surveying or a construction/property-related subject.
  • A relevant technical or professional qualification (RICS, CIOB, or equivalent) or be working towards one.
  • Evidence of continued training and professional development in a related field.
  • Experience in building relationships with a range of stakeholders.
