Job description
Overview

The Estates Department operate and maintain, energy and environmental resources, controls, electrical and mechanical services providing power, lighting, heating, air conditioning to wards, outpatients and operating theatres. Estates directly impacts on patient welfare, frontline clinical care, infection prevention and control and energy efficiency and sustainability across the Estates Trust.

We have an exciting opportunity for a committed, highly self-motivated individual. The Royal Marsden is looking for a Building Services Technician (M&E) to join the Estates Team in Chelsea. This is a highly valuable broad ranging role, which will expose them to the whole range of Estates services including mechanical, electrical, building & energy control systems and project management. The candidate must be highly proactive in developing their technical knowledge in all aspects of training and work undertaken, engage in active discussions about skills, techniques, methods and approach to tasks in order to develop as a skilled professional. Responsibilities
  • To interrogate intelligent BEMS (Building Energy Management system) and co-ordinate staff to undertake repairs and maintenance on various plant and control systems throughout the Chelsea site.
  • To co-ordinate and assist staff in fault finding and emergency repairs on all critical and non-critical plant.
  • To undertake condition assessments on all plant and equipment throughout the site to ensure that it is always maintained to a high standard ensuring compliance with current regulations and HTMs / HBNs.
  • To compile a forward maintenance programme for existing and newly installed plant/equipment and ensure any relevant PPMs are updated on the CAFM system and to ensure that all systems are installed and maintained to relevant standards.
