Overview
The Accounting & Controlling team will assist in the preparation of the monthly management accounts for designated process areas, maintain and report on a strong and robust control environment, completing balance sheet reconciliations, risk analysis and providing an accounting perspective to all processes to ensure compliance, efficiency and transparency.
Responsibilities
- Post journals and other uploads into ERP systems accurately and on a timeline basis.
- Assist in the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with quarterly forecast and annual budget processes where appropriate.
- Identify and resolve issues arising using the application of accounting principles and sound judgement.
- Develop a good knowledge of relevant accounting standards and ERP systems.
- Investigate non‑standard transactions and propose solutions. Provide thorough root cause analysis and outcomes for issues arising.
- Respond to accounting queries quickly, with meaningful and informative resolution.
- Manage all accounting processes for assigned areas.
- Ensure compliance with the Heidelberg Materials Compliance Policy and related procedures.
- Ensure that business operations are performed in accordance with instructions and procedures to prevent fraudulent activities.
- Comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and observe the Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation.
- Proactively manage health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company’s health & safety performance.
- Update knowledge of relevant areas as required and attend training/development courses.
- Comply with all aspects of the HR Policies and Procedures of the Company.
- Perform any other duties that may reasonably be required.
Qualifications
- Experience of working in an accounting environment.
- Knowledge of accounting double entry.
- Actively undertaking study towards a professional accounting qualification.
