Job summary

A leading broadcast media company is seeking an experienced Broadcast Engineer to join a specialist team focused on live coverage for prominent sporting events across the UK. This fully on-site position requires expertise in broadcast equipment and strong technical skills. The ideal candidate will have a background in field operations, possess excellent IT and repair abilities, and be willing to travel extensively. Flexibility for evening and weekend work is also needed.

Qualifications

  • Broad technical knowledge of broadcast engineering and field operations.
  • Strong IT skills (IP routing, address configuration).
  • Practical repair skills (soldering, crimping).
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast‑paced OB environment.
  • Team spirit and willingness to travel extensively.
  • Driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot cameras and broadcast equipment.
  • Manage signal quality, camera racking, comms, rigging, and HD-SDI workflows.
  • Set up and test external feeds on-site.
  • Support senior engineers and work closely with the OB crew.
  • Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

This is a hands‑on, fully on‑site role with frequent travel to Outside Broadcast (OB) events across the country. Candidates can be based in London, Warwickshire or Newcastle.
