Job summary

A leading NHS Trust in Manchester is seeking a Booking and Scheduling Clerk to efficiently manage appointments and coordinate patient care within a healthcare setting. We have an exciting opportunity to join our busy Booking and Scheduling WTWA Wythenshawe.

The successful applicant will need to have a keen eye for detail, work well under stress and be able to adapt to an ever-changing priority workload. The role is fast‑paced and excellent organisational skills are essential. You must be confident and work well on your own and also alongside our friendly, hard‑working and fun team. Main duties of the job
  • Responsible for providing an efficient and high quality service to support the Booking & Scheduling Team in the management of booking and scheduling waiting lists, ensuring that key access standards are met in line with the requirements of the Trust access policy.
  • Providing efficient and high quality administrative support.
  • Adding patients to a waiting list ensuring patients are on the correct pathways, validating this and amending as necessary.
  • Ensuring patients have all the relevant pre‑admission tests and checks.
  • Recording patient cancellations and DNAs (Did not Attend).
  • Liaising with consultants with regards to case‑mix, additions to lists and list changes.
  • Ensuring theatre lists are constructed to maximise levels of utilisation.
