Overview

BMS Project/Design Engineer – London/Southeast – £65,000

You’ll be responsible for producing complete BMS designs, including control schematics, points lists, and I/O schedules, while supporting the successful delivery of projects from concept through to commissioning.

You’ll collaborate closely with project managers, software engineers, and clients to ensure the solution is technically sound, cost-effective, and delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed BMS system designs, control strategies, schematics and schedules
• Work closely with PMs and clients to finalise project scopes and system architecture
• Attend design meetings and support pre-commissioning/commissioning planning
• Provide technical support to the installation and commissioning teams
• Ensure all work complies with relevant specifications and standards
• Assist in value engineering and cost optimisation across projects

Skills and experience

Essential:

• Experience in BMS design (Trend, Tridium or Cylon)
• Understanding of HVAC systems and control strategies
• Familiarity with creating I/O lists, control panel drawings, and schematics
• Good communication skills and ability to work within project teams

Desirable:

• Experience with BMS integration and smart building platforms
• Knowledge of commissioning processes and BMS software tools
