Job description
Overview

We are seeking a Biomedical Scientist to join the microbiology team based at Glan Clwyd Hospital. Candidates will need to be enthusiastic, well-motivated and innovative, with good organisational and practical abilities supported by scientific knowledge. Have well developed interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to lead and support individual and team working. Interviews will take place face to face.

Public Health Wales provides the opportunity for automatic progression to Band 6 on successful completion of the IBMS Specialist Diploma in Medical Microbiology. HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists that hold the IBMS Specialist Diploma in Medical Microbiology or demonstrate equivalent experience will be appointed at Band 6. HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists that do not hold the IBMS Specialist Diploma in Medical Microbiology will be appointed at Band 5.

HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists that do not hold the IBMS Specialist Diploma in Medical Microbiology will be appointed at Band 5.
  • Desirable: understanding of good laboratory practice and ISO15189 quality management.
  • Being flexible with your approach to work, self-motivated and with good practical skills, and possessing well developed interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to support individual and team working.
