Biofuel Financial Analyst

Our client is seeking a PQ/Qualified Accountant with an interest in Data and Reporting. The role is office-based in Canary Wharf, London, primarily focused on compliance related to biofuel obligations in the UK and Ireland.

The responsibilities include:

  1. Calculating monthly biofuel obligations in UK & Ireland.
  2. Tracking physical fossil and biofuel content using oil accounting systems.
  3. Validating and reconciling obligated sales and balancing duty returns.
  4. Managing certificate claim processes and balances.
  5. Working with suppliers and operations to obtain documentation.
  6. Ensuring compliance with regulations, including GHG savings and origin verification.
  7. Maintaining mass balances and tracking product movements.
  8. Entering claims into government systems and coordinating certificate transfers.
  9. Meeting critical deadlines for volume submissions, certificate applications, and GHG reporting.
  10. Liaising with biofuel agencies and industry forums.
  11. Reviewing trade documentation for contractual protection.
