Bench Joiner / Carpenter who has excellent carpentry / joinery skills with strong knowledge of traditional and modern joinery techniques is required for a well-established company based in Lovington, Somerset.

SALARY: £33,280 - £37,440 per annum (£16.00 - £18.00 per hour) + Benefits (including Company Events, Pension, Free Parking)

LOCATION: Lovington, Somerset

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 40 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday

In a highly skilled manufacturing environment, you will produce bespoke joinery items such as doors, windows, staircases, kitchens, fitted furniture, and one-off pieces, transforming raw materials into functional and beautiful components based on architectural drawings and specifications. This role demands a commitment to quality and precision, with the ability to interpret complex drawings accurately.

Working as part of a team, you will ensure projects are completed on time and to high standards, contributing to the company's reputation in heritage and conservation joinery by applying traditional methods and materials to restore historical woodwork.

DUTIES

Your responsibilities include:

  • Bespoke Manufacturing: Crafting custom doors, windows, staircases, kitchens, fitted furniture, and unique pieces from architectural drawings and client specifications.
  • Precision and Quality: Ensuring work meets high standards with exact tolerances throughout production.
  • Technical Interpretation: Reading and working from detailed architectural and workshop drawings.
  • Collaborative Delivery: Working effectively with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
  • Heritage and Conservation: Applying traditional joinery skills to heritage projects, preserving and restoring historical woodwork.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Bench Joiner
  • Strong knowledge of traditional and modern joinery techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings confidently
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
  • Experience with heritage joinery or conservation work is desirable
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Carpentry & Joinery (preferred)
