Job Summary

Are you a Registered Nurse with a current UK registration looking for extra shifts to boost income or undertake a flexible job that fits around your family and lifestyle? If so, we would love to hear from you about becoming part of the Staff Bank Nursing Team at CTM. We have opportunities at band 5 and band 6 level.

Weekdays, nights and weekend shifts are regularly available, viewable and bookable through an app. In a few simple steps you will have nursing shifts within a clinical area at our University Health Board, including Acute Medical and Surgical Wards, Emergency Departments, ITU and Community Hospitals.

Whether your nursing experience is from the NHS or private sector, we would love to hear from you and be part of our Bank Nurse Team with an hourly rate that includes enhancements on unsocial hours, a 12.07% uplift to cover leave.

Responsibilities

You will play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding clinical care to our patients using your knowledge, skills and experience to enhance our standards of care. You will undertake a range of assigned tasks involving direct and indirect care and will be responsible for complying with all policies and procedures, meeting CTM standards and ensuring compliance with NMC Standards and Codes of Conduct.

There is no minimum number of hours, although it is recommended to work as often as you can to ensure your knowledge, skills and familiarity with our services is retained.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This does not mean essential; while the candidate does not need to have skills in Welsh, we will consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. This is not ‘fluency’, just speaking & listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.   • Qualifications – Essential: Professional registration
  • Knowledge – Essential: Ability to demonstrate responsibilities under the NMC Code of Conduct
  • Desirable – Knowledge: Specialist knowledge acquired through courses, training and experience
  • Desirable – Welsh Language Skills: Level 3 and above (B2) desirable for this role
  • Experience – Essential: Previous experience in a ward‑based environment
  • Desirable – Experience: Extensive post‑registration, most recently in a specialty caring for acute and emergency patients
  • Values – Essential: Committed to delivering high quality service to patients, upholding the values and behaviours of the UHB
  • Aptitude – Essential: Excellent communication skills
