We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Lancaster Farms, a category C prison located on the outskirts of Lancaster, Lancashire.

HMP Lancaster Farm consists of 550 males.

Hours:

  • Monday - Friday
  • 7.30am - 4.30pm

BANK Hourly rate:

  • Monday - Friday £23.00
  • Weekends - £24.79
  • Bank Holidays - £29.75

Main duties of the job

As a Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options
  • Undertake medication rounds, assess and treat patients who may have experienced trauma and be distressed
  • Assess patients’ health needs using an evidence-based framework and be able to risk assess with sound clinical knowledge
  • Provide advice, support and information and manage a caseload of patients
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
  • Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects, liaising with prescribers as required
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, and evidence-based care
  • Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams

Qualifications required:
