Role: Catering Assistant
£12.70 per hour. Hours as and when required.
Responsibilities
- Basic food preparation, presenting meals to a high standard and serving meals to residents, in line with relevant food hygiene legislation.
- Work as part of a team to enrich residents’ lives, support colleagues, and contribute to a positive working environment.
- Support and training are provided; be caring, enthusiastic, energetic, and flexible; communicate effectively and treat residents with respect and dignity.
- Adhere to safe food storage and cleaning practices.
- Be aware of and adhere to processes related to safeguarding, equal opportunity, and inclusive employment practices.
- Work in partnership with colleagues and use a team-oriented approach to ensure high-quality care delivery.
- Be prepared for an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check if offered the role; the cost is covered by Sanctuary Care.
We work closely with the Home Office in order to prevent illegal working.

Responsibilities (continued) / Requirements
- Previous catering experience is desirable; a food hygiene certificate is desirable or essential as applicable.
- An understanding of safe food storage and cleaning practices is essential.
- You need to be caring, enthusiastic, energetic and have the ability to share that energy with residents and staff.
- Being able to communicate well and having a flexible approach is essential.
- Demonstrate kindness and a genuine respect for older people and their needs.
