Overview

Role: Saw Operator/Cutter

Location: Bradford

Contract: Permanent role

Shifts: 2 options available, 6am - 2.30pm or 11am - 9pm, Mon - Fri

Salary: basic rate £#removed#

Employer: Large steel stock holder supplying components to shipping, MOD, and heavy industry

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, cutting lists, and job sheets to determine material requirements.
• Accurately cut raw materials—various heavy metals—to specified sizes and tolerances.
• Operate and maintain cutting machinery and tools (e.g., saws, presses, cutters, CNC cutting equipment depending on department).
• Carry out quality checks to ensure materials meet required standards before moving to the next production stage.
• Follow health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing better ways of working where possible.
• Keep work area organised and tidy.

Other information

This is a permanent role; you can choose a preferred shift and stay on permanent early or late shifts. The later shift comes with an allowance.
