A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Consultant Clinical Psychologist specializing in Neuropsychology to enhance care in stroke rehabilitation services. The role involves providing expert clinical support, developing training, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Ideal candidates will have substantial experience in Neuropsychology and hold relevant postgraduate qualifications, as well as strong leadership skills.
12-month fixed term, 32 hours per week. Applicants seeking to work less than 32 hours per week may also be considered and are encouraged to discuss.
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist in Neuropsychology to join BCHC's neuropsychology and rehabilitation services. Funding has been secured to develop psychologically informed care in stroke rehabilitation across the system.
The post-holder will work alongside the Divisional Lead Consultant Neuropsychologist and collaborate with colleagues at Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust to develop a framework and training for psychologically informed care across stroke-rehabilitation services in Birmingham and Solihull. The postholder will also provide specialist clinical neuropsychology support to the multidisciplinary Solihull Adult Neurorehabilitation Team.
The successful applicant will have extensive experience in Neuropsychology and, at minimum, have completed the underpinning knowledge component of qualifications towards eligibility for entry onto the Specialist Register for Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN). Demonstrable strategic leadership experience relevant to this Consultant-level position is essential.

To undertake and advise other psychologists in highly specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessments of complex cases, assessing cognition, personality, beliefs, attitudes, behaviour, emotional function, and other relevant psychological characteristics and dimensions relevant to neuropsychological difficulties.
To develop highly complex formulations and implement plans for the formal neuropsychological treatment and/or management of clients’ highly complex psychological problems (e.g., family breakdown, serious mental illness, vulnerable adults, aggressive and violent behaviour) using advanced knowledge across care settings.
To develop and implement highly complex plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of presenting problems based on specialist knowledge and evidence-based practices.
To facilitate dissemination of effective evidence-informed psychological practice by developing and supporting the use of psychologically and neuropsychologically informed protocols, guidelines and procedures within routine practice.
