A national health service in Birmingham is seeking a Band 7 Clinical Education Lead - Dysphagia to oversee training and provide specialist therapy. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Dysphagia, lead educational initiatives, and support colleagues' professional development. We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and forward thinking community team, acting as a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist supporting training needs and holding a clinical caseload.
We have a number of SLTS who are developing their dysphagia skills and provide placements for many students and so need a dedicated member of the team to oversee, supervise and support their ongoing training needs in the area of Dysphagia.

To contribute to the identification of training needs of team members, other professionals and deliver training in the highly specialist area.
To take delegated responsibility for ensuring high quality speech and language therapy post registration paediatric dysphagia training and competence, across the city, in conjunction with the Advanced Specialists and Professional Lead.
To be the lead clinician for the education of clinical SLT staff and students in the area of Dysphagia.
To provide Speech and Language Therapyat a highly specialist level, functioning in partnership with other agencies and disciplines to support in the holistic assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children and young people known to the service.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
