Overview
An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen to join Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP) as a Therapy assistant in the Community Pain Management Service. The service promotes long‑term self‑management and reduces dependency on wider health care services through a comprehensive bio‑psychosocial model.
Responsibilities
- To independently complete specified holistic assessments, interventions and create rehabilitation programmes for community‑based patients.
- To follow departmental protocols and guidelines and refer patients to qualified clinicians for advice.
- To modify interventions and programmes within defined parameters and within scope of practice.
- To refer patients to appropriate services and health care professionals where complex needs are identified after discussion with team members.
- To discharge patients within your workload after consultation with a qualified team member.
- To attend multidisciplinary meetings and participate in clinical decision‑making process for individual patients as delegated by qualified staff.
- To ensure accurate, up‑to‑date clinical records are kept, always securing confidentiality.
- To work within competency and seek qualified therapist guidance where appropriate.
Governance
- To comply with all relevant professional, Trust and departmental standards, policies, procedures and guidelines.
- To demonstrate appropriate skills and competencies to ensure safe delivery of assessments, interventions and programmes.
- To produce and maintain a personal portfolio to demonstrate ongoing personal development.
- To participate in the Trust's appraisal system, undertaking any identified training and development to maintain skills and competencies.
- To gain appropriate support from senior colleagues and participate in supervision/peer review to enhance practice.
- To fulfil all mandatory training requirements of the Trust.
- To promote the safety, wellbeing and interests of patients, staff and visitors to the department.
- To ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures and guidelines for self and others, taking action/alerting senior management if practice appears to contravene policy or if concerned about any aspect of patient care.
Managerial / Leadership
- To demonstrate appropriate time management and organisation skills.
- To contribute ideas to enable development and implementation of service improvements.
- To contribute to delivery of service objectives and designated projects.
- To contribute to relevant departmental meetings.
- To promote a healthy, safe and secure working environment, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate documentation and reporting any concerns.
- To assist in preparation of training materials and organisation of group sessions as required.
- To contribute to health promotion activities.
- To take responsibility for own learning and development by recognising and taking advantage of all opportunities to learn, including full participation in appraisals, supervision, action learning and maintaining a professional/personal portfolio of learning.
