Qualifications

  • Previous success working with elite athletes is preferred.
  • Knowledge of FA girls' talent Pathway & WSL Academy structure is a plus.

Job description
Overview

We are looking for an Academy Nutritionist on a casual basis to deliver and lead a knowledgeable and experienced nutritional model and educate all AWFC Academy players. Beyond that, we are passionate about our local community and, behind the scenes, we have a wide variety of opportunities and career paths for all. Responsibilities
  • Lead on the ongoing development of the Academy nutritional philosophy and framework and its practical implementation to optimise player health, development, availability, and performance
  • Design and deliver a nutritional education program with resources designed to improve the performance nutrition practices of players, parents, and staff
  • Lead on the monitoring of nutritional factors linked to performance support (body composition, nutritional knowledge, anti-doping awareness, fuelling, hydration etc)
  • Develop an education programme and squad-based nutrition support for the academy players, parents, and staff to support nutritional goals linked to phase-relevant context
  • Provide individualised support for the PGA players to develop optimal nutrition support (body composition, nutritional knowledge, anti-doping awareness, hydration etc)
  • Support injured players in their return to football by providing individual nutritional support in alignment with MDT goals
  • The role will require collaboration with the MDT and management of relationships between all staff to ensure consistent alignment across the club to optimise nutrition for individual player requirements as well as development throughout the academy pathway

Qualifications
  • A BSc in Sports Science or Nutrition Related Degree
  • ISAK Level 1
  • SENR Graduate Accreditation
  • UKAD advisor certificate
  • Knowledge of the performance nutrition requirements for sports performance
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Previous success of working with elite footballers and/or elite athletes domestically and internationally
  • A proven track record in the provision of physiotherapy or strength and conditioning services to athletes in elite level sports to improve performance, prevent injuries and ensure timely recoveries
  • Knowledge and experience of FA girls' talent Pathway & WSL Academy structure
  • Experience of working at a football or major sports club/Federation
