About the role

Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) is now offering an exciting opportunity for an Audit Manager to support the team. This role will provide exposure to a varied workload across the different parts of the HL group. You will be joining a team that is passionate about continuous improvement and your ideas will be influential in our transformation.

As an Audit Manager you will primarily be responsible for leading end to end internal audit engagements. This includes ensuring all audit work is performed to a high standard, managing relationships with stakeholders, and providing assurance on the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management by delivering clear audit reports that challenge management to continually improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal controls.

What you'll be doing
  • Working with Senior Audit Management for direction; but ultimately leading the end-to-end audit
  • Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with senior managers across the business to influence improvements in the risk and control frameworks
  • Helping HL accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management and control processes across all business areas and influence management to make improvements
  • Applying strong analytical skills to consider how data can be mined for data lead insights and effective audit testing
  • Working on your own initiative or leading small teams that may include third party auditors
  • Confidently feeding into the audit planning process using a strategic standpoint, built on experience
  • Mentoring and coaching others in the team
  • Always seeking to consider improvements in methodology and general ways of working including maintenance of an effective QA framework
About you
  • Professional commercial experience within a regulated environment and experience liaising with all levels of stakeholder
  • Commitment to continual professional development to complement existing relevant qualifications
  • Proven delivery of independently managing end to end audits with high quality reporting
  • Working knowledge of data analytics
  • An effective and engaging communicator, able to present complex information in simple context, adapting your style to suit your audience
  • Accomplished in forging effective relationships with colleagues at all levels, skilled at influencing, negotiating, and managing challenging conversations
  • Possess an analytical mindset, striving for continuous improvement across relationships and process
  • Solution focused- with the ability to use own experience to develop innovative solutions and resolve complex issues
  • Ability to work, and be resilient, in a fast paced and changeable environment
  • Proactive, organised, and self-sufficient with high levels of attention to detail
Interview process

This will be a two-stage interview process which includes a task.

Working Schedule

This role is based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern to enable you the option of working from home and coming into the office.
