Associate Scientist - Biologics Analysis

Location: Slough

Salary: £32,000-£39,000

Contract: 12 months (with potential for extension)

VRS Recruitment is partnering with a leading multinational biopharmaceutical organisation with a long-standing heritage in developing innovative therapies across neurology and immunology. Their UK R&D site specialises in novel antibody discovery and development, contributing to a diverse and expanding pipeline of therapeutic programmes.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide analytical support for antibody production within a highly collaborative research and development environment. This is a laboratory-based role, involving independent work across a broad range of analytical biochemistry techniques including HPLC, ELISA and electrophoresis.

You will analyse in-process samples generated both on-site and with external partners, as well as assist in the isolation and characterisation of process‑related impurities and other substances.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently generate high‑quality analytical data to support bioprocess development
• Conduct investigations using a range of analytical biochemistry methods
• Assist in isolating and characterising proteins and impurities
• Analyse in‑process samples to support ongoing development projects
• Present scientific findings through reports, presentations, and discussions

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for applicants who have:

• A strong bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant scientific discipline
• Hands‑on experience with at least 2 of the following techniques - HPLC, ELISA, electrophoresis gained from at least 12 months industry experience
• Strong teamwork, communication, flexibility, and problem-solving skills
