Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of a high-quality residential development. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced construction environment, values great teamwork, and is committed to producing well-built, affordable homes for local communities. Working alongside the Site Manager, Contract Manager, subcontractors, suppliers and the on-site sales team, you will help ensure the development progresses safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the safe and compliant running of the development, reinforcing health and safety procedures and maintaining a proactive approach to risk management.
- Assist in managing day‑to‑day construction operations, including supervising trades, coordinating tasks and helping resolve site‑based issues.
- Contribute to quality checks, ensuring that all work meets required standards and that any defects are addressed promptly.
- Help manage customer‑related tasks both during the build and post‑completion, ensuring any issues are dealt with efficiently to deliver strong customer satisfaction.
- Maintain effective communication with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers and local stakeholders.
- Build positive relationships with nearby residents and community groups as part of wider project engagement.
- Use digital site management tools such as Zutec and digital plot records to manage data and ensure accurate documentation.
Ideal Candidate
- CSCS card (required).
- NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision or similar (either achieved or currently working towards a pass/distinction).
- SMSTS qualification.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- CISRS Scaffolding awareness.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, sequencing and site processes.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., NHBC, Building Regulations).
- Experience within housebuilding is essential, preferably in an Assistant Site Manager or Site Supervisor position.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
- Full UK driving licence.
