Responsibilities

As an Assistant Project Planner, you’ll be at the heart of delivering complex upgrades and modifications to facility assets and infrastructure that support the UK’s submarine maintenance programme. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity that offers wide exposure across the business, helping you build a strong foundation in project management within a high-impact, mission-critical environment.

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for providing professional schedule management services across the Capital Investment Portfolio Team. You will provide a key interface between Project Managers, Commercial, Engineering, Construction, Projects, Subcontractors and Supply Chain functions to aid the effective scheduling of the projects undertaken

  • Supporting the development and maintenance of integrated project schedules
  • Assisting Project Managers with planning activities, resource allocation, and dependencies
  • Applying schedule management techniques under supervision
  • Collaborating with engineering, commercial, construction, and supply chain teams
  • Contributing to the growth of planning and cost control functions within the Capital Portfolio

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office/onsite and days working from home.

Essentials

Essential experience for the Project Planner

  • Experience in engineering or project management environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 (desirable but not essential)
Qualifications
  • Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a project support role
