Our boutique Project Management consultancy client, based in Berkshire, is recruiting due to increased workload and a healthy order book for 2024/2025. Having successfully expanded year on year since inception, they seek to hire an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager to join their team. Their projects include commercial offices, hotels, and retail parks.

Supported by an Associate Director, you will be a key part of their close-knit team, contributing to the business both commercially and culturally.

Your primary role will be to manage smaller projects—such as 'cut & carve', strip outs, and remodelling—while supporting senior colleagues on larger schemes, developing skills and experience as part of your CPD.

Projects are located across the South East and Midlands; candidates must be able to drive, own a vehicle, and be within a 1-hour commute of Newbury.

Key Duties:

  1. Work closely with colleagues to understand project requirements.
  2. Develop professional relationships with clients.
  3. Manage and lead smaller projects.
  4. Support larger projects as part of a wider team.
  5. Collaborate with all stakeholders.
  6. Understand and promote sustainability and Health & Safety policies.
  7. Prepare construction and development budgets.
  8. Provide regular reports on expenditure against budgets.
  9. Assist with negotiation of consultant fees and invoice management.
  10. Prepare monitoring programmes.
  11. Work towards a career development plan with support.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Full UK working eligibility (no VISA support).
  • BSc in Surveying, Construction Project Management, Engineering, or Architecture (preferably RICS accredited).
  • At least 6 months of full-time consultancy experience.
  • Effective communication skills and enthusiasm.
  • Basic knowledge of project management principles.
  • Understanding of project cost control.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Own car and driver’s license (relocation not supported).

Package: Up to £40,000 basic salary (experience-dependent) + 5% pension + 28 days paid holiday + discretionary benefits + bonus + professional subscription.
