Overview

Assistant Procurement Manager - London, UK. Location: London, with occasional travel to Ipswich. Hybrid working is supported where possible; you’ll need to be based within reasonable travel distance of the London office and able to attend in person as required (typically 2–3 days per week, may vary by team or project).

Sizewell C has recently secured Final Investment Decision (FID) approval, marking a milestone in the UK’s energy future. This role is part of Sizewell C as a standalone organisation, helping to shape a fair, transparent, and commercially robust procurement environment from the ground up.

About the Role

You’ll play a key role in delivering end-to-end procurement activities (source to contract) across SZC’s Corporate Functions. You’ll support the development and execution of procurement strategies, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure governance compliance. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact project and shape procurement culture at SZC.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support procurement processes from strategy to contract award.
  • Manage commercial aspects of contracts during execution.
  • Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders to support pipeline development.
  • Ensure compliance with SZC’s procurement policies and governance.
  • Collaborate with legal teams on contract terms and NDAs.
  • Develop RFP/RFQ packages and manage supplier engagement.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting dashboards.
  • Drive lessons learned and continuous improvement across procurement activities.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in a procurement role.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in corporate functions procurement and contract negotiation.
  • Solid understanding of commercial law and contractual terms.
  • Proven ability to manage high-value, multi-disciplinary contracts.
  • Member or student member of CIPS.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and advising senior management.
Salary & Benefits
  • Salary: £40,000 (depending on experience)
  • Bonus: 5% annual incentive
  • Pension: Up to 7.5% employee contribution, 15% employer contribution
  • Holidays: 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
