Overview

At Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology, we provide tools for the engineering of micro- and nano-structures, with customers using our process solutions to research and produce materials and semiconductors vital for everything from medical devices and diagnostics, to electric cars and quantum computers. We are currently recruiting for Assistant Packing Supervisor for a permanent role based in Yatton, Bristol. Your primary role will be packing of electronic capital equipment for export across the globe, managing stock levels of packaging materials and providing support to other areas as required, typically of Material Handling & Pre-Pack. Pack and ship customer spares and service orders. Provide support to the Packing Supervisor to ensure stock is stored accurately, securely and correctly labelled.

Responsibilities
  • System Packing: In the absence of the Packing Supervisor, manage workloads to ensure deadlines are met to achieve the business On-Time shipment to customers globally. Ensure OIPT packing standards are maintained to ensure goods arrive undamaged. Update Packing Supervisor of stock levels of packaging materials in line with predicted requirements. Load shipments onto vehicles for onward shipment. Ensure packing is completed in line with the requirements relating to secure cargo. Process Return to Vendor (RTV) requests.
  • Goods In: In the absence of the Packing Supervisor, receive, book in and locate in relevant and suitable locations. Ensure that any backlog is kept to a minimum and receipted goods are processed in a timely manner.
  • Spares and Service orders: Ensure orders are picked, packed and shipped in a timely manner; ensuring parts are packed in a safe secure fashion to avoid damage in transit. Invoice spares and service order in a timely manner. Ensure delivery targets are met.
  • General: Process and pick daily shortage reports. Perform daily cycle counts to maintain stock accuracy. Ensure any parts returned to stock (RTS) are processed accurately and in a timely manner. Support the Packing Supervisor with the accurate maintenance of the stores stock by data entry of all relevant transactions. Provide support to other departments in the movement of material. Support the Packing Supervisor in maintaining accurate records of vendor consignment stock. Process Return to Vendor (RTV) requests. Investigate and report any stock losses.
Education / Qualifications

English and Maths to numeracy and literacy.

Professional Skills / Abilities
  • Computer literacy.
  • Clear communicator.
  • Able bodied (some lifting < 25kgs) involved.
  • FLT licence preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a similar role.
