Location: Nottingham, NG5
Salary: £115 - £135 Per Day
Days: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
Start Date: As soon as possible

A secondary school in Nottingham (NG5) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Head of Year (non-teaching) to support students within their year group, ensuring high standards of behaviour, attendance, and engagement with learning.

Responsibilities
  • Acting as the main point of contact for parents, staff, and external agencies.
  • Act as a liaison between the Year team and external organisations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for staff referrals regarding behavioural issues.
  • Offer comprehensive support to promote students\' physical and mental well-being.
  • Addressing behaviour issues and managing incidents.
  • Monitoring attendance and implementing improvement strategies.
  • Supporting student well-being and safeguarding.
  • Organising assemblies and student admissions.
  • Liaising with parents and coordinating meetings with staff.
  • Serve as the main contact for parents, managing inquiries and referring them to relevant staff when necessary.
  • Implement and monitor attendance improvement strategies and sanctions.
Role Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role eg. Pastoral, Teacher, Behaviour Mentor, Learning Support Assistant.
  • Previous experience working with children/young people with additional support needs.
  • An Enhanced DBS and two professional references are a requirement for this role (we can support with this).
  • Ability to build positive relationships with both staff and students.
