Job description

Group Assistant Accountant

Location - Castleford (Easy access via M62 or a 5 min walk from Glasshoughton train station)

Our Group Assistant Accountant role is perfect for someone who wants to be part of a collaborative, supportive team while developing their finance career in a fast-growing business. You’ll be at the heart of our Central Finance Team, keeping our accounts in check and making sure the numbers tell the right story.

What you’ll be doing:

1. Processing intercompany transactions and reconciliations
2. Posting prepayments, accruals, and managing balance sheet reconciliations
3. Supporting payroll reconciliations, VAT returns, and CIS queries
4. Assisting with audits, tax returns, and Sage month-end close
5. Providing financial insights and variance analysis to support key decisions

What we need from you:

• AAT level 2 Qualified (Advantageous)
• Previous industry experience
• Organised and methodical
• Ability to balance changing priorities
• Team player - someone willing to support and help-out your colleagues
