A leading cruise company based in Southampton is seeking an experienced project manager for its Maritime & Sustainability team. This full-time role, classified as CUK07, focuses on overseeing major defect resolutions, managing project budgets, and ensuring operational reliability. Ideal candidates will have strong project management skills, particularly with Microsoft Project, and experience in the hospitality sector. Role Overview
The Maritime & Sustainability team are responsible for the safe operation of P&O Cruises and Cunards fleet. We do this by developing capable and motivated colleagues, providing assets that are fit for purpose as well as delivering operational processes that meet and exceed the needs of the business. Our Maritime teams deliver the health, environment, safety, security and nautical & engineering expertise needed to ensure we can create unforgettable holiday happiness for our guests.
Key accountabilities include:
Lead resolution of major guarantee defects - Prioritise issues with the greatest impact on guest experience, safety, ship operations, and revenue, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant solutions
Manage and deliver defect-related projects - Oversee planning, execution, and formal handover to ship managers and crew, proactively mitigating risks, managing scope changes, and minimising disruption to operations and guest satisfaction
Control project budgets and financial governance - Deliver accurate forecasting, variance analysis, and tender processes while ensuring adherence to corporate policies and financial controls
Drive stakeholder engagement and collaboration - Work closely with ship teams, regulatory bodies, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to maintain high equipment and vessel availability, represent the company in contractual discussions, and manage operational risks effectively
Mitigate impact on revenue and guest experience - Implement strategies and solutions that reduce downtime, maintain service standards, and protect the overall guest experience during defect resolution and project delivery
