Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a dedicated Essential Skills Assessor to support apprenticeship learners in developing key skills in literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy. The role is home-based with travel across North Wales. You will deliver training, assess progress, and guide learners to achieve nationally recognized qualifications. Qualifications

  • Experience of work-based learning and awarding body practices.
  • Proven background delivering Essential Skills qualifications.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check (company funded) and EWC registration.
  • A recognised training or assessing qualification (A1 Assessor Award, TAQA, CAVA, or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Welsh language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging workshops and one-to-one sessions to help learners gain Essential Skills qualifications.
  • Register, conduct and invigilate controlled tasks in line with awarding body standards.
  • Mark, assess and record progress accurately, maintaining compliance with all quality requirements.
  • Work closely with learners and employers to drive achievement and keep learners motivated.
  • Plan and meet performance targets while keeping learner documentation up to date.

Salary: £24,720 - £27,800

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Location: Home-based with travel across North Wales

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
