Job summary

A leading UKAS asbestos consultancy in the North West is seeking an Asbestos Consultant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least the P402 qualification and experience in surveying. Responsibilities include conducting asbestos surveys, sampling, and reporting findings. Opportunities for further industry experience and cross-training are available. Candidates with P403/4 qualifications and related skills are also encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum of the P402 or RSPH equivalent.
• On-site experience either as a surveyor or surveyor/analyst.
• Good understanding of asbestos regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth asbestos surveys to residential and commercial properties.
• Undertake bulk sampling and visual inspections.
• Produce technical surveying reports and feedback findings to clients.

Job description

Employee driven UKAS asbestos consultancy are currently looking to recruit an asbestos consultant to join their North West team. You will hold at a minimum the P402 qualification and surveying experience, however, the client is able to accommodate candidates that also hold the P403/4 qualification and wish to undertake a split of surveying / analytical duties. The company is focused on staff development and can offer the successful candidate opportunities to gain further industry experience and cross‑train into over aspects of asbestos management.

Applications will be considered from those with good access to the North West including Manchester, Stockport, Stretford, Macclesfield, Crewe, Northwich, Widnes, Warrington, St Helens, Leigh, Liverpool, Ormskirk, Southport, Chorley, Preston, Blackburn, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, Huddersfield, Halifax, Leeds, Bradford and surrounding areas.

Your experience

• Minimum of the P402 or RSPH equivalent (essential).
• P403/4 (desirable).
• On site experience either as a surveyor or surveyor / analyst.
• Good understanding of asbestos regulations and best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Traveling around the North West / M62 to conduct in‑depth asbestos surveys to residential and commercial properties.
• Undertaking bulk sampling and visual inspections.
• Collecting data from site using handheld PDAs and TEAMS/TRACKER software.
• Producing technical surveying reports and feedback findings to clients.

If the P403/4 is held

• Air monitoring and airborne fibre counting.
• Undertaking visual inspections of asbestos enclosures.
• Conducting 4‑stage clearances.
• Overseeing contractors on site ensuring work carried out is in accordance with asbestos Health & Safety procedures.
