Location: Yorkshire UK (home-based; candidates may live in Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate, Hull, Sheffield, York, Doncaster, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Scarborough, Huddersfield, Northallerton, Skipton, Pontefract, Barnsley, etc.).

A world leading manufacturer of rotating equipment and mechanical components for applications across multiple industrial sectors including chemical, oil & gas, food & Beveridge, pulp and paper, mining, process, defence, power, wastewater and pharmaceutical. The company has longstanding global presence with sites in over 100 countries and multimillion turnover. They manufacture products, systems and solutions that enhance pump efficiency and reliability and reduce maintenance downtime and cost. They are seeking a sales professional with a mechanical engineering background to manage the Yorkshire region.

Reporting directly to the UK Sales Manager, the successful candidate will take responsibility for business activities throughout the Yorkshire region, including account management and new client acquisition.

This is a home-based role that requires regular customer visits. Expect one day per week from a home office and four days focusing on developing and managing customers. You will report all sales and quotation activity monthly, and will be supported by internal sales engineers for technical backing to assist in closing sales.

Expected earnings: £70,000+.

Responsibilities
  • Manage business activities in the Yorkshire region, including account management and new client acquisition.
  • Prioritize 70% strategic key account management of existing clients and 30% new business activity.
  • Sell into a diverse base across industrial, process and manufacturing environments; perform technical solution selling with mechanical engineering aptitude.
  • Report sales and quotation activity monthly and coordinate with internal sales engineers for technical support to close deals.
Candidate Requirements
  • External sales experience in related sectors (mechanical seals, rotating equipment, pumps, valves, etc.).
  • Mechanical engineering background; strong grasp of rotating equipment and mechanical seals is highly beneficial.
  • Understanding of pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, seals, etc.
  • Strong strategic thinker with ability to develop relationships, manage key accounts and grow new business.
  • Upselling/cross-selling capability; excellent communication across various levels.
  • Proven B2B sales track record; dynamic, proactive approach.
  • Engineering qualification desirable but not essential; apprenticeship also desirable.
  • Extensive product training provided.
