Architectural Technologist

Location: Cheltenham

Salary Expectations: £36-42,000 (DOE)

A respected and innovative consultancy is looking for a detail-driven Architectural Technician to join its supportive and collaborative team. Working across the commercial and industrial sectors, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to projects from early concept design through to technical delivery and completion. This is an excellent role for someone eager to grow within a multidisciplinary environment and play a key part in delivering practical, well-crafted design solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Producing precise, high-quality 2D and 3D drawings and documentation for planning, tender, and construction stages
  • Turning design concepts into coordinated, buildable technical solutions
  • Working closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Coordinating layouts with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers
  • Contributing across all RIBA stages (1-5)
  • Preparing and managing planning applications, guiding clients on their obligations
  • Ensuring all outputs comply with current Building Regulations, codes, and standards
  • Attending site visits, preparing reports, and resolving construction queries in collaboration with contractors
  • Assisting with scopes of work and contributing to design risk registers
About you / Requirements
  • Degree in Architectural Technology or a related subject (HND/HNC also considered)
  • Solid UK-based post-graduate experience
  • Strong technical portfolio showcasing commercial and/or industrial project work
  • Proficiency in Revit is essential; AutoCAD skills are a bonus
  • In-depth knowledge of UK construction practices, Building Regulations, and technical standards
  • Highly organised with strong communication skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
