Job description
The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Project Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist looking to take the lead on innovative, design-led projects across the UK? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment where creativity, technical skill, and genuine work-life balance are valued equally?

An established, RIBA-chartered architectural practice based just outside of Manchester is seeking a talented Project Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist to join its expanding team. You’ll play a key role in delivering inspiring projects within the education and residential sectors — from early concept design through to full technical delivery and completion.

We would also welcome applications from those with experience in healthcare, commercial, leisure, industrial, or mixed-use developments.

This role would suit candidates working in roles such as Architectural Designer, Architectural Project Manager, Design Architect, Senior Technician, BIM Coordinator, Associate Architect, Technical Architect, Revit Technician, Project Lead, or Architectural Consultant.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:
  • Managing design and delivery across all RIBA stages, ensuring technical accuracy and design integrity.
  • Leading projects from initial feasibility and planning through to detailed design, construction, and handover.
  • Coordinating effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors to maintain project quality and timelines.
  • Producing and reviewing detailed drawings, specifications, and Revit models in accordance with current standards.
  • Supporting and mentoring team members to foster continuous professional growth and collaborative success.
You will have the following qualifications and experience:
  • At least five years of post-qualification experience working within UK architectural practice.
  • Professional registration with ARB or CIAT, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Strong Revit skills with knowledge of BIM Level 2 processes and NBS specification writing.
  • Proven experience leading projects across multiple sectors with excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A creative yet practical approach, with the ability to deliver high-quality work maintaining attention to detail.

You’ll enjoy a supportive, flexible working culture — including a 4.5-day week with an early Friday finish, clear opportunities for progression, and a strong focus on work-life balance. Competitive salary and benefits package available, including pension and performance bonus.
