Job description

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to join our Housing Team to carry out the technical functions and related disciplines involved with the delivery of housing grants, principally disabled facility grants, including designing and tendering schemes.

Located in the ‘Heart of Derbyshire’ with a borough comprising of quiet villages,market towns and excellent transport links, Amber Valley is set in beautiful countryside with the Derwent Mills world heritage site adding to the charm of Amber Valley.

The successful candidate will be principally responsible for delivering adaptations to domestic homes which will include conducting feasibility studies, production of working drawings, specification writing, submitting planning applications and contract documentation.

You will need to have knowledge and experience of housing grants legislation, technical and operational issues and knowledge of Building Regulations applicable to domestic dwellings. You will have the ability to interpret legislation, reports, data, architectural drawings and plans and experience of building contracts and procurement.

You will hold a qualification in a relevant area Architecture / building construction or architectural technology have experience of using design software CAD.

You will need to have excellent IT skills and the ability to organise and prioritise your own work. You will also be required to work on site and may work from home occasionally. Please refer to the job description and person specification for further details.
