Mechanical/ Electrical/ Process Engineering Apprenticeship
Location - Barrow Mill, Cumbria
Apprenticeship start date - 7th September 2026
A Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician apprenticeship standard maintains the safety, integrity and effective operation of plant and equipment in the energy and utilities, nuclear, food and drink, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics industries and more.
The EUIAS provides the robust end point assessment engineering technician apprenticeship to level 3 standard
You will train as an engineering apprentice technician and undertake a structured training program of academic study, shop floor and workshop work to gain the required skills and knowledge.
During your training you will work towards an apprenticeship standard in Engineering maintenance and achieve the qualifications relevant to your role.
Your initial training will be spent between Kimberly-Clark and Gen2’s skill centres to introduce basic engineering skills in a safe and controlled environment under the supervision of the instructors.
You will also spend one day a week working towards your national diploma.
Taking the valuable skills gained in your first year you will transfer into the manufacturing environment and work alongside technicians and engineers, becoming an integral part of the team solving real problems. A dedicated supervisor and mentor will ensure you develop at a fast and effective pace to maximise your individual capability and achievement. A working day may include manufacturing components for repair on breakdowns, maintenance of equipment both scheduled and breakdowns, fault finding and cooperating with the asset teams to ensure work is carried out to a high standard.
You will continue to spend one day a week off site working towards your National Diploma (Year 2) and Higher National Certificate (Years 3 & 4).
After 4 years of training, you will take an End Point Assessment to complete your apprenticeship.
