THE JOB

As part of our team, you'll play a key role in promoting a positive health and safety culture across the business, while completing your Level 3 Safety, Health & Environment Apprenticeship and achieving NEBOSH General Certificate and NEBOSH Environmental Certificate.

What You'll Do

• Work closely with our Head of Health, Safety & Environment to implement and monitor safety policies.
• Assist in developing and updating health and safety policies and procedures based on industry standards and regulations.
• Support in the development of informative materials and resources to enhance safety awareness and understanding.
• Facilitate the reporting of incidents, accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Assist the HSE Team in incident investigation and the development of suitable corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents.
• Support the HSE Team in conducting internal audits and inspections.
• Collaborate with external agencies during regulatory inspections and maintain required documentation.
• Coordinate emergency drills and maintain safety equipment.
• Compile and analyse health and safety data to identify trends and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with teams across the business to embed safety into everything we do.
• Adhere to Company and Group policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to Safety, Health and Environmental.
• Ensure all relevant legislation and approved codes of practice, are adhered to in respect of ongoing compliance, including but not limited to UFAS, FIAS, & NOPS assurance schemes.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES REQUIRED

Essential

• Excellent experience of MS Office products and SharePoint.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience within an administrative role.
• Knowledge of the Carr's Billington Business Divisions.
• Be a practical problem solver.
• Adopts a flexible approach to work and willing to take on additional responsibilities.
• Team player, with a genuine interest in helping others.

Desirable

• IOSH Managing Safely & IOSH Leading Safely
• Knowledge of working within ISO 45001, 14001 frameworks.
• Holds a full UK driving licence.
