A leading technology development company in the UK is seeking an Applied Science Technician to join their Technology Development Group. This role involves carrying out a wide range of maintenance activities on diagnostics, supporting the ORION laser facility and collaborating with engineers and scientists during laboratory experiments. AWE has an exciting opportunity for an Applied Science Technician to join our Technology Development Group, bringing their experience to AWE and to successfully playing a key role in delivering for our customers.
Working within our Plasma Diagnostic Support Team, this role will give you the opportunity to carry out a wide range of planned and preventative maintenance activities on diagnostics in support of the ORION laser facility, assisting with the assembly and testing of bespoke hardware and supporting engineers and scientists with conducting laboratory experiments.
Location: Aldermaston, West Berkshire (RG7 4PR)
We re located between Basingstoke and Reading, with free onsite car parking.
Due to the classified nature of this role, it is anticipated that the successful candidate will spend the majority of their time working on site at AWE Aldermaston during their working hours.
Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 per annum (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience) plus role specific allowances. Optional, paid over-time would be available in this role.
