About the role

As Analytical Rigour Assurance Lead, you will provide second-line assurance to ensure that all analytical outputs across NESO meet the highest standards of accuracy, consistency, and compliance. This role is critical in validating methodologies, challenging assumptions, and safeguarding the integrity of data-driven insights that underpin strategic decisions. You will act as an independent authority on analytical quality, ensuring that NESO’s analytical frameworks align with published standards and best practice. This role can be based from Warwick, Wokingham or Glasgow, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home.

Key Accountabilities

• Apply second-line assurance to analytical processes, models, and outputs across NESO.
• Validate compliance with analytical standards and frameworks published in the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Develop and maintain assurance methodologies for analytical rigour, including peer review and audit processes.
• Provide independent challenge to assumptions, data sources, and modelling techniques used in analysis.
• Prepare reports on data analytics risks and assurance findings for relevant stakeholders, and escalates issues where data quality or analytics risks exceed tolerance levels.
• Collaborate with analytical teams to embed best practice and continuous improvement in methodologies.
• Work closely with first-line data and analytical teams, and other second-line functions to ensure coordinated risk management.
• Identify opportunities to enhance data analytics controls, incorporating tools such as automation, AI monitoring, and advanced analytics for proactive risk detection.
• Assist with the development of controls for analytics.
• Champion a culture of analytical excellence and integrity across NESO.

In this role, we’re looking for someone who has:

• Experience: Proven track record in data analytics, data and analytical governance, assurance, or audit within complex organisations.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of data and analytical standards (e.g Aqua book), QMS frameworks, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Skills
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to interpret complex analytical standards requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Ability to challenge constructively and drive improvements.
• Technical: Familiarity with tools that support analytical rigour, assurance methodologies, and reporting systems.

About what you’ll get

A competitive salary between £55,000 – 65,000 – dependent on experience and capability.
