Theatre Facilities
- 12 Theatres: 8 in the main theatre, 4 in Day Surgery Unit (DSU), plus support for 2 maternity theatres and IVF.
- Diverse Specialties: Experience a wide range of procedures including Urology, General Surgery, Upper GI, Breast, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, ENT, Oral, Plastic, Ophthalmology, Trauma & Orthopaedics, CEPOD, Robotics and Bariatric surgeries.
Requirements
- You will need to be a Registered ODP (Operating Department Practitioner) with the HCPC or an RN holding a recognised ANAESTHETIC qualification.
Responsibilities
- Clinical Care: Provide high-quality patient care under supervision, including implementing basic and complex healthcare practices. Ensure safe techniques in patient and equipment handling, document care accurately, and participate in multi-disciplinary decision-making.
- Communication & Teamwork: Effectively communicate with patients, relatives, and colleagues. Report incidents and contribute to team discussions. Provide clear explanations of nursing interventions and respond sensitively to others' needs.
- Management & Leadership: Utilise resources effectively, delegate tasks to junior staff, support peers through preceptorship, and participate in policy development and quality audits. Engage in reflective practice and promote evidence-based practices.
- Governance: Maintain high standards of clinical care, keep patients informed, identify risks, and update clinical skills for ongoing professional development.
