Givens Home First is hiring aPRNAging in Place Technicianto join our Aging in Place team. As a Givens Home First Aging in Place Technician, you will collaborate with the Aging in Place Program Director to assess community members and their home environments, making recommendations that will enable and empower them to live independently, comfortably, and safely at home. Driven by evidence-based research, you will implement the desired modifications in accordance with policies, procedures and best practice, while also striving to meet and exceed the standards set by Givens Home First. If you have any experience with plumbing, electrical work, painting, or light remodeling, this position could be for you!

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Aging in Place Program Director to assess an individual's abilities, challenges and needs in a holistic and purpose driven way, recommending updates that will help them live independently, safely and comfortably
  • Coordinate with relevant departments and vendors to develop and implement home modifications based on the applicable safety and functional needs, e.g., electricians, plumbers, paint crew etc.
  • Identify, recommend, purchase and oversee installation of furnishings and equipment that can help enhance the aging experience
  • Educate community members on proper use of installed medical equipment
  • Ensure best practices are followed when conducting home assessments
  • Coordinate and monitor stockroom and inventory
  • Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor
Qualifications
  • Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) is highly desirable, but not required
  • Plumbing, electrical, painting, light remodeling experience desired, but not required
  • Must possess basic inventory control and applicable computer skills
  • Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 100 pounds
  • Previous experience as a handy worker or skilled laborer required, with ability to support implementation and installation of equipment and home modifications such as grab bars, bidets etc.
  • Knowledge of aging process and correct use of DME highly desired
  • Possess public relations and office skills highly desired
  • Must possess a valid unencumbered North Carolina Driver's License and insured vehicle (eligible for mileage reimbursement)
  • Understanding of aging processes, Durable Medical Equipment and their functions

Compensation is $23.00 -$25.00 per hour, based on background and experience.
