Ackerman Pierce is currently supporting a leading local authority within Southend to recruit for an Advanced Practitioner for the Fostering Support Team on a permanent basis paying £46,142-£52,413 P/Annum. Responsibilities
- To recruit, train, assess, supervise and support Foster Carers in their role of looking after children and young people, ensuring high professional standards and knowledge of relevant children\'s and fostering legislation, regulations and practice methods.
- Provide a supportive and efficient service to children, young people, their families and fostering families to ensure needs are professionally assessed.
- Investigate, evaluate and analyse information on cases, with clear assessment, reliable information, evidence in conclusions and realistic action plans.
- Develop practice with a holistic view of the individual, considering immediate and extended social circles and overall development needs.
- Ensure all casework and foster care services comply with statutory requirements, fostering regulations/National minimum standards and the Council\'s policies and procedures.
- Ensure investigations, enquiries and assessments are completed to high professional standards within agreed timescales.
- Use ICT to maintain adequate case recording as directed in service procedures.
- Ensure all case management complies with statutory requirements and the Council\'s policies and procedures.
- Liaise with and work in partnership with other agencies and organisations to support care plans of children in placement and the work of foster carers.
- Undertake the recruitment, assessment, training and ongoing development of foster carers to meet the diverse needs of children in Southend Borough Council.
- Participate in an effective referral and allocation system, ensuring relevant documentation is available and current for children looked after by foster carers, placing children in line with Fostering regulations, National minimum standards and Southend Council\'s policies.
- Attend panels, conferences, reviews and court as required for each case, presenting the Council plans and opinions with professionalism and integrity.
- Prepare and submit written reports as required.
- Identify service enhancements and support the culture of continuous improvement.
- Recommend expenditure within strict criteria and policy.

Minimum Requirements
- SWE Registration
- 3 years current fostering experience
- Practice Educator
- Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Full driving license and access to your own vehicle
