Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Hewell, a category B Prison located in Redditch.

In this role, you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.

Hours: 28 hours, 3 days per week, 08:30am - 17:00pm

Salary: This position is full-time, with an annual salary between £57,603 - £63,000, depending on experience.

Candidate requirements: Candidates must have a legal right to work in the UK. Due to the role's nature, offers of employment are subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job
  • Assess and manage wide-ranging and complex patient problems demonstrating sound judgement
  • Provide clinical leadership within the mental health team, which includes registered and non-registered professionals such as mental health and substance misuse practitioners
  • Act as a role model, ensuring professional appearance and standards
  • Support senior clinicians and be part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients
  • Work as a clinical expert to ensure patient safety, manage complex cases, and apply up-to-date treatment methodologies

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (Adult / Mental Health) with current NMC registration or Registered Paramedic with HCPC registration
  • Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification
  • MSc in Advanced Practice
  • Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner following best practice guidance

Experience in hospital, community, or prison environments is desirable but not essential.
