Job Advert: Business Support Officer
Location: Newport
Employment Type: Temporary
Start Date: Monday 8 December 2025
Duration: 13 weeks (possible extension)
Hours: 37 hours per week (Mon–Fri) – flexible start/finish times to suit you
Salary: PAYE: £12.85+ per hour | Umbrella: £16.57 per hour

The Role – Help Tackle Rough Sleeping in Newport
We need a reliable, organised administrator to support the busy Rough Sleeper Team over winter.
Main focus =accurate, high-volume data entry of outreach work, referrals, case notes and outcomes into the council’s systems (training given).

Other day-to-day tasks
  • Minute-taking at multi-agency meetings
  • Diary management & arranging appointments
  • Ordering supplies, filing, answering phones
  • General admin support to the team
You’ll Need
  • Solid admin / data-entry experience
  • Fast, accurate typing and good attention to detail
  • Confident with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication – you’ll be dealing with partner agencies and sometimes vulnerable people
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
