Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Administrative Officer to join the AFBI Newforge Estate Unit. Administrative Officer - AFBI Newforge Estate Unit

Location: AFBI Stormont Estate Unit
Branch: Estate Management & Development Branch (EMDB), FCAD
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Start Date: Monday 5th January 2026
Duration: 6 months initially

Rate of Pay: £13.75 per hour

Main Duties
  • Assist the AFBINewforge Premises Officer with:
    • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule and remedial works
    • Reactive maintenance and defect reporting
    • Use of AMPS (NICS Asset Management & Property Services System)
    • Specialist laboratory gas maintenance
    • Permit-to-work system
    • Site security, KPI reporting, and invoice processing
    • Fire safety duties (Deputy Fire Precautions Officer), including weekly alarm testing
    • Reception cover for visitors, contractors, suppliers, staff, and AFBI Board Members
    • Daily mail and courier handling
    • Other duties as requested
Essential Criteria
  • Minimum of 2 GCSEs (Grade C or above) including English and Maths
  • At least 1 year's clerical experience
  • Effective communication skills for reception and visitor interaction
  • Competence in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Candidate's will have to complete a basic Access NI
