Job summary

A leading aviation services provider in Farnborough is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee all financial operations for their MRO facility. This role involves ensuring compliance with accounting standards, leading audits, and managing Accounts Receivable and Payable activities. The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience, preferably in a manufacturing or MRO environment.
  • Good understanding of UK accounting standards, statutory reporting, and corporate governance.
  • Proven experience managing the full accounting cycle, including audits and monthly close.
  • Experience supervising small finance teams and collaborating across functional departments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the accounting function for the Farnborough MRO facility.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close in accordance with corporate and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.

Job Profile

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee all financial operations for our Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Farnborough. This role will ensure the integrity of financial reporting, manage the month-end close process, lead the audit cycle, and provide oversight of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) activities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining compliance with corporate and local accounting standards while supporting the operational leadership team with accurate financial insights and control. In addition, they will also act as the key finance point of contact for the facility, ensuring smooth communication between site and regional finance teams.

This is a 15 month FTC, starting in January 2026.

Financial Management & Reporting
  • Oversee all aspects of the accounting function for the Farnborough MRO facility.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close in accordance with corporate and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards.
Audit & Compliance
  • Lead preparation and coordination of annual statutory audits and internal audits.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other professional partners.
  • Ensure all regulatory filings and statutory obligations are completed accurately and on time.
Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Oversight
  • Supervise and provide guidance to AP and AR teams to ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Monitor aged debtors and creditors, driving process improvements to enhance cash flow management.
  • Support credit control activities and vendor relationship management.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
